This was an experiment in emulating the picturebook style of Brittney Lee in “A Sister More Like Me.” I had to make do with what (crappy) brushes I had by default in Photoshop. If anyone has some links to textures and brushes they use for a painterly/chalky style, let me know! I want to try more art in this vein.
Wow, I love it! It’s a great new style for you! I think you captured exactly what it is you were intending to do! I don’t think it matters at all you were using default brushes; results speak for themselves, and this is impressive! <3
Oh yeah, Iria.
This is from Iria: Zeiram the Animation, one of my favorite animes. It’s memorable, if nothing else, for its design work, which seems to have influences from both Asia and India; some of the music seems the same, too. Just….it needs to be listened to. It may not be for everyone, but like I said, it’s memorable. In fact, go to YouTube, and look up the soundtrack. Here are a couple of examples- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_XBUOc7Cu0
It also features character designs by Masakazu Katsura, author of Video Girl Ai and Shadow Lady, and he does character designs for Tiger and Bunny.
If you’ve never seen this anime, definitely try to track it down and check it out. It was released on a DVD set in a nice tin case.
Thanks for reblogging this, George!
It’s new and it’s brief; it’s the new update!
Hey, Page 118! And I…meant to post this last week! And somehow didn’t! Sigh….Anyway, this could be misinterpreted as me expressing a dislike for the PS4, Sony, etc.Honestly, I can’t afford new game consoles to begin with, so…..I will admit I don’t have a huge interest in the PS4 right now though. I don’t know. I haven’t been following news on it. I guess part of the point of this is that I don’t seem to have time to care and it just didn’t feel like a huge event or anything to me when it was released. Granted, I know as of this writing, it’s sold over a million already. But for me personally, it wasn’t that big of a deal. I accept the fact that I just can’t keep up with games anymore; I can’t afford them, and have other things I need to do. I’m not abandoning them; I’ll get to them when I can. I just do anything with them for the most part right now. Hopefully that changes in the near future.
Is Hell freezing over?? Another update on time this week! :O
Page 117! Just another quick one. This is far from the best one I’ve ever done, I know…I also didn’t quite adjust it right during the digital editing process. I know.
Anyway, I thought this graffiti was amusing, for sure!
Page 116! I meant to post this last week…Actually…I meant to post this one…quite some time ago. I drew it a while ago, and for some reason…forgot about it. Yeah, that has never happened before. D: Also, I’m trying watermarks with this one. It’s probably not well-placed or anything, and it was a pain in the ass to get it the way it is (I’m using Gimp 2, by the way. Don’t judge me.)…But still, I’ll learn as I go.
So yeah, my girlfriend and I have….weird conversations. Actually, it’s usually just because of me. ;P I get carried away! There were some others in this list, too, but these are the only ones I could remember.
Also, I believe the answer was crab!
Well. I don’t have a comic ready for today….But here’s some art; some fan art! It’s Gabrielle, from Yamino’s Sister Claire! Today is Yamino’s birthday, so I made this quick piece! I’d like to recolor it or adjust it more later, or something, but for now, here it is.
So, happy birthday, Yamino! :D Everyone, go read her comic, Sister Claire. Do it. Do it now. NOW. DOOOOOOOOO EEEEEEEEEEEEET.
Page 114! And on time, too! I’m working to try and get something up for Thursday, too. I hope I do…
Anyway, just a silly conversation I actually had with my girlfriend. Yeah, we’re..silly. I like the idea of the brewed gravy branded with a range of cattle heads! If it’s beef gravy, I assume.
Also, the reference here, for those that may have missed it, is that during the Prohibition Era, bootleggers often made their own booze, which was extremely illegal, and it wasn’t uncommon for said homemade drinks to….explode. The same thing probably happens with moonshine sometimes, too, I imagine.
Whoa; an update! :O Enjoy it!
Ah, page 113, on time! :0 I hope this is the start of a habit. Or rather, a back to the habit…
Anyway, so not much to add to this one; it’s a text conversation that really happened. I guess this is the kind of comic that would really benefit from a lot digital work to make it look more like text screens or something. Ah well…
For what it’s worth, here’s a new page! Of…filler. But stil!
Finally a new page! Here’s 112! And I know…just a quick filler…Although I hoped time would be better to me in getting more, and non-fillers up, alas, time just gets away from me, and it hasn’t been feasible lately…Ugh..So yeah….time just runs away from me!
That clock does look kind of crappy. I should go after a better one.
