Oh yeah, Iria.
This is from Iria: Zeiram the Animation, one of my favorite animes. It’s memorable, if nothing else, for its design work, which seems to have influences from both Asia and India; some of the music seems the same, too. Just….it needs to be listened to. It may not be for everyone, but like I said, it’s memorable. In fact, go to YouTube, and look up the soundtrack. Here are a couple of examples- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_XBUOc7Cu0
It also features character designs by Masakazu Katsura, author of Video Girl Ai and Shadow Lady, and he does character designs for Tiger and Bunny.
If you’ve never seen this anime, definitely try to track it down and check it out. It was released on a DVD set in a nice tin case.
Thanks for reblogging this, George!
Page 116! I meant to post this last week…Actually…I meant to post this one…quite some time ago. I drew it a while ago, and for some reason…forgot about it. Yeah, that has never happened before. D: Also, I’m trying watermarks with this one. It’s probably not well-placed or anything, and it was a pain in the ass to get it the way it is (I’m using Gimp 2, by the way. Don’t judge me.)…But still, I’ll learn as I go.
So yeah, my girlfriend and I have….weird conversations. Actually, it’s usually just because of me. ;P I get carried away! There were some others in this list, too, but these are the only ones I could remember.
Also, I believe the answer was crab!
Whoa; an update! :O Enjoy it!
Ah, page 113, on time! :0 I hope this is the start of a habit. Or rather, a back to the habit…
Anyway, so not much to add to this one; it’s a text conversation that really happened. I guess this is the kind of comic that would really benefit from a lot digital work to make it look more like text screens or something. Ah well…
What’s this? I updated! :O
Finally, here’s Page 111! I’ve had difficulties lately, so this is up late, I know….Sigh…I hope to get back on a regular schedule…
Anyway, so I was working on a new idea recently, and yeah, I realized that I could picture it, as I initially started to imagine it, as a family, animated movie. In some ways, it seemed typical, but I could also imagine things Hollywood would do with it. I’ll keep the idea to myself for now, and see where it goes. I doubt Hollywood really does want it. ;P
To be honest, I don’t know that I’d want any of my comic or story ideas to be movies. I’m just not that interested in the idea, and it’s strange to me. I’m not sure I’d be interested in working on any kind of movie. An animated work would definitely be interesting to me, but I’m no animator…Hmmmm….
Hey-hey, it’s an update! :o
So finally here’s page 110! It’s more filler, but it was all I was able to do at the time. While this one is not based on a true story, it sounds like dialogue that would easily have happened. ;P
I decided to leave this one penciled, like the old days! I kind of miss it.
Page 108 is up, and sadly again, the only update for this week….Anyway, so as this quick one illustrates, I did indeed get The Sky, by Yoshitaka Amano! This is a re-release of the previous edition, after it….sold out. :x The only real differences I am aware of between the two are first, as the comic illustrates, there are no autographed pieces inside, as with the last one (so if you’re one of the lucky ones that has the first release); the first release also came with a couple of extra things, like this….thing that looked like an animation cel, but had ink art work on it. The new edition is also cheaper than the first, definitely a plus! Also, the case the books themselves come in is covered with type of thin, smooth fabric. I don’t recall that on the first release.
So anyway, recommended! Get it now before it’s (possibly soon!) gone again! Do it. Do it now. Now. NOW!! DO IT NOW!!
